SUP Safer Award

The Paddle UK (formerly British Canoe Union) SUP Safer award will help you explore and learn to appreciate the potential hazards you might encounter on a paddleboard and will teach you how to prepare to avoid or deal with them.   The award covers interpreting weather information and planning trips appropriately, what to wear to be comfortable on the water, setting up a board and paddle correctly, getting back onto a board, towing boards and swimmers who need assistance, how to contact emergency services if things go wrong, and increasing your personal skills and trust in your own ability. 

The program is delivered by Och Aye Canoe over 3 hours. 

Och Aye Canoe will run courses periodically throughout the year or you can contact us to find a date that suits you better subject to availability.

Cost is £90 each - all equipment (including wetsuit if required) provided, instruction and certificate.  £70 each with own equipment, instruction and certificate.
