Here are some things you might want to consider when choosing such footwear:

  • Quick-drying material:  Look for shoes or sandals that are made of quick-drying material, such as neoprene or mesh, so that your feet don't stay wet for too long.
  • Closed toes: Closed-toe shoes or sandals are recommended for kayaking and paddleboarding because they provide better protection for your feet.
  • Traction: Look for shoes or sandals with a sole that provides good traction, such as rubber, to help prevent slips and falls.
  • Fit: Make sure the shoes or sandals you choose fit will and provide good support for your feet, to help prevent blisters or other foot injuries.
  • Water protection: Look for shoes or sandals that are waterproof or water resistant, this sill help to keep your feet dry and protect them from cuts and scrapes.
  • Personal preference: Some people peer to wear water shoes or sandals, while others prefer to wear old sneakers.  Ultimately the best most important thing is to wear something that is comfortable and will not slip off easily when you are kayaking or paddleboarding.

It's also a good idea to bring an extra pair of shoes or sandals to change into after you've finished kayaking or paddleboarding
