First Aid Training

Och Aye Canoe offers a range of practical first aid courses delivered by Sarah, an accredited First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) first aid instructor, who also has over 20 years experience from a previous career in the emergency services.

Courses available include the 3-Day First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification, 1-Day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW), and a 3-Hour Basic Life Support Course tailored specifically for paddlers and sailors.  All courses are delivered and quality assured to meet the new guidelines and meet the requirements of the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981, HSE Guidance L74 (2024 update) and the Resuscitation Council UK Guidelines 2025.

Training covers incident assessment, CPR and AED use, unconscious casualties, choking, bleeding, fractures, head and spinal injuries, burns, shock, poisoning and more. Courses are interactive, hands-on and compliant with current UK first aid requirements.

RYA First Aid instruction can also be provided on a freelance basis with a RYA Training Centre.
