Paddle Start Award

Paddle Start Award

The British Canoe Union Paddle Start Award is the first level of a certification program designed to introduce beginners to the fundamentals of paddling in kayaking, canoes or paddleboards. The program is open to anyone aged 8 and above, and it teaches participants basic skills, such as how to paddle forwards, backwards, and turn, as well as basic safety techniques.

This is a fun and enjoyable session, introducing you to paddlesport.

The program is delivered by Och Aye Canoe over 2 hours. It is ideal for those who are new to paddling or who want to improve their skills in a structured and supportive environment. The Paddle Start Award is recognised nationally and internationally and is a useful credential for those who wish to pursue further training or participate in organised paddling events.

Och Aye Canoe will run courses periodically throughout the year or you can contact us to find a date that suits you better subject to availability.
