Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is the fastest growing watersport in the world just now, it is fun to do and easy to learn. It involves standing on a large surfboard using a long-handled paddle. Och Aye Canoe uses inflatable SUPs which pack down to a backpack size, they are a minimum of 10 feet long with triple fins, offering more stability. It is possible to kneel or sit on the boards until gaining confidence to try standing up. Each board has a leash meaning you do not lose contact with your board.
Lochore Meadows is a great place to get to grips with the board. We will start with learning about the equipment, before trying to sit or kneel on the board. Once you are feeling more confident you can try standing on the board! There is no pressure and the session is run at your pace.
Aberdour Silver Sands beach in Fife is an ideal bay to learn or progress your skills of Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP). There are also a number of local seals which often get close and are a joy to watch. Session times will vary due to tide times. There is a cafe, toilets and plenty of parking at this location so your friends and family can come and watch!
